omaha holds a special place in my heart. a good friend from high school went to creighton, met a guy, and got married in omaha. i was part of her bridal party, and even though we no longer talk, i hope she knows i still consider her a friend. it’s been a couple years since i was in omaha, and so i did a little research on this midwestern cow town.
omaha is a small city, but it packs a huge punch. there is no end to things you can do, year round, and the city plays host to the college world series, which means that it brings in enormous crowds in june each year. and there are two distinct sides to omaha. there’s the downtown area, where the qwest center, creighton university, and the old market are. the area has expanded so much in the past twenty years, however, so west omaha is booming and is almost another city in itself. i have focused on the downtown area (and the zoo – it’s a must) – west omaha is a ten minute drive – for this post.
