well, the crunch time is definitely now. i leave for new zealand in… three weeks from today. and i haven’t started packing.
when thinking about what to pack for a year, at least, abroad, with no real idea of what i might get into down there, i’ve decided to pack up two boxes of things that i can ask my parents to ship down for me, if i need them. i’m also investing in space saver bags, to pack some warmer weather clothes, and the ever-amazing eagle creek packing cubes to make my life a million times easier (seriously if you’re not using these, you are missing out.)
i’ve narrowed my list down to clothes, hiking shoes, travel sized toiletries (seriously – i’ll just buy big ones over there,) and a couple small knick knacks to make my space feel like mine. i’m also taking my gopro, nikon, computer and phone. past that, i’m probably not taking much else.
as we get closer to my travel date, i’ll probably post some photos on instagram of the packing mess that i know i’ll be making, so stay tuned.
have you ever packed for a year? have you ever over-packed? what would you recommend i take with me? leave comments below!
