In my world of travel, there are many suppliers and tour operators vying for my business. And all are well-respected, well-known, and very good at what they do. Today I’m sharing some information about one of my Australian suppliers – the people behind me, the people who know the people, the people who help me make magic happen when you’re travelling. Meet Southern World Australia.

When you’re thinking of a trip to Australia, you’ve likely got a few destinations in mind. Sydney, the Great Barrier Reef, Melbourne, Tasmania, and Uluru are some of the most popular places within this great country, and they’re probably on your list. You bring this list to me, and we discuss your trip. Your wishes, wants, and needs. Likes and dislikes. Preferred pace of travel, the “ideal day”, what you want to say when you return home. And then I take this information and I reach out to Southern World Australia.
Southern World Australia is based in Sydney, although they also have an office in Auckland, New Zealand, and Fiji. Between these three offices, they can manage almost all the South Pacific. I am, as stated above, only focused on Australia today.

Why Do I Use Them?
I use Southern World Australia for a variety of reasons, and for many clients. They are located in Australia, so they’re local experts with relationships across the county. Their portfolio spans all Australian states and territories, and they visit these places every year. It’s way more than I can do, despite being an Aussie Specialist.
Pricing and Relationships
Think of these suppliers as the liaison between you and me and the hotels, tour operators, transfer companies, and so forth. While I can certainly book hotels, transfers, and tours independent of a third party, many times a supplier like SWAus has contracted rates that are better than those found online. They also provide one package price, with all the different components, for you. This can be very beneficial when you take into consideration the possible overseas transaction fees associated with paying for hotels or tours while travelling. You pay a deposit and a final payment up front, and Southern World handles the back-end details. Everything is paid, so all you have to do is show up.
Virtuoso-Preferred
As a Virtuoso-preferred supplier, Southern World can often include the Virtuoso amenities at a Virtuoso hotel, and they’ll work with me to include additional amenities. Travelling on your honeymoon? Everyone will know.
On-the-Ground Support
Southern World Australia also provides on-the-ground support while you are travelling. Flight delayed? They can reach out to the driver. Tour cancelled due to weather? They are there to help with rebooking (in many cases before you even know the tour is cancelled!). Roads closed due to disaster? They are behind the scenes rebooking hotels or rerouting your itinerary.
