Where are my adventurers at?!
I’m sharing some #TravelTips to help you feel prepared for your next adventure. These are tips that I routinely share with my clients and I use for my trips to explore the world.
First up is packing tips! Packing can be so hard especially when you want to bring your whole wardrobe and alllll the options (or if you like to have back ups just in case). Here are a couple tips to use the next time your suitcase is overflowing and there is no hope for getting that thing closed and under the weight limit.
Packing Tips
Make a list of your events and what you might need certain clothes for. Knowing in advance that you need a dress and heels, or that you’re going to be running through 3 wardrobe changes per day, will help align your outfits.
Plan outfits. It seems silly, but mix and match… what can you wear that black skirt with twice? Jeans? Take only one pair (hello, you’re not washing them daily at home!) Only items to NOT skimp on: undies and socks! Otherwise, plan to wear things twice before sticking them in the laundry bag.
Another essential tip is to only take clothing in two or three (max!) colours. This really allows that mix and match with most of your items. If you need one standout piece, try to keep it in the same colour scheme, or go to the total other end of the colour spectrum.
Wear your bulky items on the plane. No one wants to be bogged down with sneakers or boots whilst travelling because you have to basically undress at security (protip: get TSA PreCheck!) BUT this is a great way to keep your suitcase slim. Just be like Joey from Friends and wear ALL THE CLOTHES.
Don’t overthink it. Pack what you like and what you feel most comfortable in, otherwise it’s going to sit in your suitcase the entire time.
Annnnnd utilise packing cubes. I swear by packing cubes to the point that I pretty much exclusively pack in small bags. I have an entire system, but organise by what works best for you. (And add a cube or bag for laundry too.)
