*This post is a guest post* Choosing where to go on your next travel adventure is one of the most exciting parts of the whole travel experience. Researching possible destinations, activities, good food, and attractions to visit always increases anticipation before a trip. Planning out your travel bucket list (aka your Wanderlist!) allows you to dream and map out your future travels.
Tips to Choose Your Next Adventure
With so many places to choose from, it can sometimes be a bit overwhelming to settle on one location. Continue reading to discover five top tips to help you narrow down your options.
Budget
Your budget will be a significant deciding factor when it comes to choosing a holiday or travel destination One in three millennials are prepared to spend as much as $6,000 or more on a summer trip. If this is you, then the world is very much your oyster. Obviously, if your budget is on the lower side, the you will need to consider how to reduce costs. One way to save some money would be to take a staycation. Sometimes exploring somewhere in your own hometown or country can be just as exciting as jetting off somewhere new!
Your Travel Style
Do you prefer travelling alone? Do you enjoy self-catering apartments where you can independently discover a city? Or do you favour organised trips and communal living? Whatever your adventure style, there is an adventure out there waiting for you. But it’s important to consider what kind of adventure you want before haphazardly booking something which you might end up not enjoying. For instance, if you are passionate about the environment, you might want to consider taking a sustainable holiday, where you could be helping out an orangutan sanctuary or just simply putting your feet up knowing that you trip is carbon neutral.

Travel Partners
Who you travel with will make a big difference to your choice of location. Of course, when travelling with other people, plans have to be made together, and compromises usually have to be made. This can be frustrating for all involved, especially if nobody ends up getting what they want. If you are travelling with someone with mobility issues, for instance, travelling somewhere with little public infrastructure or access will make it extremely difficult to get around. Likewise, if you are travelling with friends who love camping in the wilderness, it is probably best to let them know you would prefer a nice hotel before you arrive, at least if you want to avoid unnecessary arguments!
Timing
Travelling to South India during monsoon season (June-September) might not be such a great idea if you want to explore India’s outdoor offerings. Similarly, if you’re going to go surfboarding in Phuket (Thailand), then the best time to catch some waves will be between April to October. When planning a travel adventure, you will need to take into account the climate and season of any potential destinations. If your dream holiday location will be experiencing torrential rain during your planned travel dates, perhaps choose another destination from your bucket list or change your travel dates.
Enjoy your next adventure, wherever it takes you!
