Travel to Egypt With ME!
If you’ve ever wanted to go to Egypt but aren’t sure about going either on your own or in a group of strangers, then this is the group for you! All guests are vetted clients of me and my colleagues. They’re well-travelled and interested in the world beyond their own borders. I’ll be with you from the beginning, managing any and all issues that may arise. We also have the services of my DMC partner, Big Five. Big Five has private ground operators in Egypt and a representative of Big Five will be either on call or with us the entire time. Once you make the deposit, you will also benefit from the White Glove Service of Big Five here in the US.

Travel to Egypt With Me: Founder’s Trip Itinerary
This trip kicks off in Cairo with a visit to the Giza plateau. We will explore the Great Pyramid from the exterior with our private Egyptologist before entering the tomb and climbing to the top chamber. If we’re lucky we’ll be the only people in here. We’ll wind our way around the complex by bus and stop for lunch at a new restaurant with epic views of the pyramids. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the brand new Grand Egyptian Museum.

Upper Egypt
From Cairo, we leave for Luxor and Aswan by domestic flights – included in the tour cost! We’ll explore all of what Luxor has to offer. From the immense Temple of Karnak to the sprawling Valley of the Kings and the many temples in between, it deserves at LEAST three days.
We’ll drive between Luxor and Aswan. This short distance takes about 6-8 hours with stops at Edfu Temple and Kom Ombo. On arrival in Aswan, if we have time, we’ll take a felucca ride on the Nile. It’s safe to dip your fingers in the water here — no crocs.
In Aswan, we start our tour of modern Egypt. We’ll visit the High Dam, a project of Gamal Abdel Nasser in the 1960s. The resulting Lake Nasser flooded Nubia and resulted in the resettlement of a few hundred thousand Nubians. This dam and electrical grid powers much of Egypt even today. We may also talk about how the ongoing Ethiopian project will affect Egypt.

Back to Cairo
We’ll return to Cairo by plane. Our first stop is the pyramids of Saqqara and Dahshur, where we will see the early attempts at pyramid construction. We’re also hoping to see the new Museum of Civilisation. And we’ll spend time with my friend Farah, who used to work for the UN fighting for gender equality in Egypt. This is a great chance to see local side of Cairo.
Finally, we’ll end with a tour of Coptic Cairo – the medieval mosques and churches (including where Jesus, Mary, and Joseph hid on their flight from Egypt). We’ll enjoy wandering the bazaar for those last minute souvenirs too.
Hotels
Our hotel choices are among some of the best in the country. We’ll take advantage of two different hotels in Cairo: the InterContinental Cairo and the Four Seasons First Residence in Giza. In Luxor, we’ll be on the banks of the Nile at the soon-to-be-renovated Winter Palace. My personal favourite is the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract in Aswan, which offers panoramic views of Elephant Island from the terrace and the Nile Wing rooms. Perhaps we’ll gather for an Egyptian feast on the terrace one evening.
